Accessibility at Acatudy
Students learn with Acatudy using keyboards, screen readers, zoom and phones. We want every one of them to be able to study, practice and take exams without barriers.

In short
Our goal is for Acatudy to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We are not fully there yet: we test regularly, fix what we find and publish what is still pending, and we welcome reports from anyone who runs into a barrier.
What we have done
- In September 2026 we ran automated accessibility audits with axe-core against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules across the public website, the student area and the academy dashboard, together with keyboard-only and dark-mode checks.
- We fixed the issues found: color contrast in light and dark modes, text that can be zoomed to 200% without breaking the page, dialogs that can be used and closed with the keyboard, missing labels and accessible names on controls, and heading structure.
- Animations respect the "reduce motion" setting of the operating system, and moving carousels can be paused.
- Website builder components are checked against web interface guidelines: images need alternative text and dimensions, form errors are linked to their fields, and icon-only buttons have a name.
Academy websites and content
Each academy writes its own courses, questions and website. Accessibility also depends on that content: alternative text for images, captions for videos and clear link text. The editor asks for alternative text, and academies in the United States can publish an accessibility statement generated from a template.
Known limitations
- A small number of automated warnings from the last audit are still open.
- Math formulas are added as images, which need a text description written by the academy.
- Videos uploaded by academies only have captions if the academy provides them.
- We do not yet publish a VPAT or a formal conformance report.
Report a problem
If something in Acatudy is hard or impossible to use with your setup, write to [email protected]. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use. Students can also tell their academy, which can open a support ticket for them.
