Billing and plans
Can I start for free?
Yes. The Free plan doesn't expire and doesn't need a card: you can stay on it as long as you like while you use it (if nobody signs in to your academy for 6 months, it's closed after we email you twice). When you need more, move to a paid plan, which activates as soon as the payment is confirmed.
When can I subscribe to a paid plan?
Very soon. In the meantime, you can create your academy on the Free plan, which never expires, and join the waitlist for the plan you want: we’ll email you as soon as you can subscribe.
How much do I save with annual billing?
20% compared with paying 12 monthly installments. Each plan's yearly price appears on its card when you choose "Annual".
Can I change plans or cancel at any time?
Yes, from My academy → Billing → My subscription. If you cancel within 14 days of subscribing and have not made active use yet (uploading files, enrolling students, creating questions or subjects beyond your plan's minimums, publishing your website on a custom domain, generating content with AI, charging your students or creating additional academies), we refund what you paid and you move to Free right away. Otherwise, you keep your plan until the end of the paid period and then your academy moves to the Free plan. On the Free plan, files are deleted after 90 days of inactivity.
What happens if I downgrade?
If you downgrade, you keep everything in your current plan until the end of the paid period; there are no partial refunds for that change. If your academy then exceeds the new plan's limits (courses, questions or storage), the panel is locked until you reduce your content or upgrade again, and your students keep studying as usual. We notify you when 15, 7, 3 and 1 days are left and, after 30 days, only what exceeds the limit is deleted.
What happens if I reach my plan's limits?
Nothing breaks: the panel warns you when you reach 70% of a limit and, once you hit it, stops you from adding more until you upgrade.
Do you take a cut of what I sell to my students?
Student payments go through Stripe to your own account. Acatudy's fee depends on the plan (Free: 5% · Basic: 2% · Professional: 1% · Institutional: 0%), plus Stripe's processing fees.
Do prices include taxes?
Any applicable taxes (sales tax or VAT) are calculated by Stripe Tax at checkout, based on your country and tax details.
